What is Metal Clay Jewelry?
Metal clay is a medium consisting of very small particles of metal such as silver or gold mixed with an organic binder and water for use in making jewelry and art. It can be rolled, textured, shaped and carved. Once fired in a kiln, the water evaporates and the binder burns off. What comes out of the kiln is metal. I work and teach with fine silver (.999 fine silver) and sterling silver. 24K gold can be added after firing with a process called Keum-Boo (as seen on the photo on the right).
What is Glass Fusing?
Glass Fusing is a technique used to join pieces of glass together by melting the glass at a high temperature in a kiln.
